Top ranked Shanxi (10-3) recorded its third loss in Hangzhou on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Zhejiang Far East (9-4) 94-86. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Shanxi. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Shanxi trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 26-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 86-94 at the end of the game. Zhejiang Far East outrebounded Shanxi 52-40 including 21 on the offensive glass. Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) fired a double-double by scoring 49 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. The former international swingman Lan Bian (185-86) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Spanish Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 53 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Yu Zhang (184-86) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Zhejiang Far East maintains second place with 9-4 record behind leader Shanxi. Newly promoted Shanxi still keeps top position with three games lost. Zhejiang Far East are looking forward to face Henan Elephants (#10) in Jiyuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanxi will play on the road against Bayi Kylin (#9) in Yinzhou and is hoping to win this game.
