Regular Season Round 12: Amicale - Sparta 85-101
Date: December 8, 2012
An interesting game for Sparta (11-1) which played road game in Steinsel against second-best Amicale (9-3). First ranked Sparta had an easy win 101-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Amicale. The game without a history. Sparta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for the former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Kasey Ulin (181-82, college: Dickinson St.) contributed with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. Sparta's coach Rainer Kloss used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Lee Fisher (195-89, college: Chicago St.) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Alex Laurent (196-93) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Amicale. Four Sparta and five Amicale players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Amicale at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Etzella. Sparta are looking forward to face T71 (#5) in Dudelange in the next round.
