Regular Season Round 13: Njardvik - Snaefell 68-70

Seventh-ranked Njardvik (3-10) gave a tough game to second ranked Snaefell (10-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Stykkisholmur managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-68. Snaefell dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Hildur Kjartansdottir (183-94) stepped up and scored 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American forward Kieraah Marlow (178-85) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. At the losing side American Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson, agency: Merit Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 21 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Ina Maria Einarsdottir scored 14 points. Njardvik's coach Lele Hardy rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Snaefell maintains second place with 10-3 record having just three points less than leader Keflavik. Njardvik lost fifth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Snaefell are looking forward to face KR (#3) in Reykjavik in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Njardvik will play on the road against Valur (#4) in Reykjavik and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
