No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Le Portel (9-4) beat on the road 9th ranked Saint Vallier (6-7) 88-81 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. Le Portel looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Ronnie Taylor (188-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. His fellow American import forward Darnell Wilson (198-85, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Roy Booker (191-84, college: SE Missouri St.) answered with 23 points and American-Ivorian guard Errick Craven (188-83, college: USC) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Saint Vallier. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Le Portel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims. Loser Saint Vallier keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Le Portel will face SO Maritime Boulogne (#6) at home in the next round. Saint Vallier will play against Lille Metropole.
