Regular Season Round 10: Toshiba BT - Aishin SH 74-89

An interesting game for Aishin Sea Horses (17-3) which played road game in Kanagawa against 4th ranked Toshiba Thunders (10-10). Second ranked Aishin Sea Horses had an easy win 89-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Toshiba Thunders was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and international swingman Takahiro Kurihara (192-87) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-3 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Toshiba Thunders at the other side keep the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Hitachi SR. Aishin Sea Horses will play against league's leader Toyota Alvark in Fuchu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against Panasonic Trians in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
