There was an upset when higher ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (4-4) was edged on the road by twelfth ranked Leganes (2-6) 62-60 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ASEFA Estudiantes won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Leganes especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. Center Patricia Valiente (185-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Center Laura San Bartolome (187-79) contributed with 5 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Center Elena Diaz (188-92) replied with 20 points and 9 rebounds and center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for ASEFA Estudiantes. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Leganes moved-up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with Las Rozas and Tenerife. Loser ASEFA Estudiantes dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Leganes will face league's leader Pais Vasco in San Sebastian in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
