Very important is a road loss of third ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (6-4) against fourth ranked Paris-Levallois (6-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Gravelines-Dunkerque was defeated by Paris-Levallois in Levallois 97-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 97-83. It was a great shooting night for Paris-Levallois especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) notched 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Sean May (206-84, college: N.Carolina) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Paris-Levallois players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by American point guard Dwight Buycks (190-89, college: Marquette) did not help to save the game for Gravelines-Dunkerque. The former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) added 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Paris-Levallois moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Gravelines-Dunkerque. Paris-Levallois will meet JDA Dijon (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Boulazac Basket (#10) and hope to secure a win.
