Everything went according to plan when third ranked Cognac (9-3) defeated at home 11th ranked Angers BC 49 (4-7) 76-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cognac. Angers BC 49 was better in second period 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Cognac outrebounded Angers BC 49 42-28 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Angers BC 49 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Sadio Doucoure (195-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jean-Philippe Ludon (200-83) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Algerian point guard Ahmed Fellah (180-81) added 7 points, 7 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Angers BC 49. Angers BC 49's coach Vincent Lavandier tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cognac moved-up to second place, which they share with Quimper and Souffel.
