Regular Season Round 12: Groningen - Den Bosch 76-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Groningen. Second ranked Den Bosch faced 3rd ranked Groningen. Guests from Den Bosch (12-2) defeated host Groningen (9-5) 80-76. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Groningen won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Den Bosch looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Andre Young (175-90, college: Clemson) who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import guard Matt Bauscher (188-85, college: Boise St.) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Den Bosch players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international Jessey Voorn (193-90, agency: Court Side) who recorded 19 points and international swingman Dimeo Van Der Horst (195-91, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Groningen's coach Hakim Salem rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Den Bosch have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Leiden. Groningen at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Den Bosch is looking forward to face league's leader Leiden at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Groningen will play against M.Magixx in Nijmegen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
