Ninth-ranked Svit (3-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Komarno (11-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Komarno managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 28-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Svit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for international swingman Martin Bilik (194-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Amin Stevens (198-90, college: Florida A&M) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. Komarno's coach Frantisek Ron used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Kenneth Henderson (201-82, college: Texas Arlington) with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Curtis Allen (193-86, college: ORU, agency: TSS Management) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Komarno and four Svit players scored in double figures. Komarno have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-2 record. Svit at the other side stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Komarno are looking forward to face Inter Bratislava (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Svit will play against Nova Ves and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
