Znicz Basket (6-7) outlasted Sokol Lancut (7-6) in overtime by four points 93-89. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sokol Lancut won third quarter 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Sokol Lancut used huge pressure winning it 21-19 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 7-11. Sokol Lancut was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Przemyslaw Szymanski (198-84) nailed 23 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and swingman Marcin Matuszewski (194-82) accounted for 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Michal Baran (185-80) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and center Maciej Klima (205-82) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Sokol Lancut in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Znicz Basket moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Sokol Lancut at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Znicz Basket will play against higher ranked MKS DG (#4) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sokol Lancut will play at home against UMKS Kielce and hopes to get back on the winning track.
