Regular Season Round 10: Kings - Breakers 75-62

Round 10 in NBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sydney where host Kings (8-5) beat league's leader New Zealand Breakers (8-3) 75-62 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Kings. New Zealand Breakers managed to win second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Corin Henry (180-88, college: Tarleton St.) fired 29 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Ian Crosswhite (210-82, college: Oregon) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard CJ Bruton (188-75, college: Indian Hills CC) produced 18 points and American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kings moved-up to third place. Defending champion New Zealand Breakers still keep top position with three games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Wildcats who have the same record. New Zealand Breakers will play next round against Cairns Taipans trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kings will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Wollongong Hawks in Gwynneville.
