Regular Season Round 10: GAC Eunikos - Panionios 64-74

Panionios has finally registered their first victory this season after nine consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Liosa, where they defeated GAC Eunikos (0-10) 74-64. GAC Eunikos was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 24-13 charge of Panionios, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 26 GAC Eunikos turnovers and outrebounded them 36-19 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by GAC Eunikos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Enisa Semaniakou (183-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Zafiria Giabani (185-92) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Panionios' coach Nikos Tolias allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Garifallia Plavoukou (185-85) replied with 17 points and Nikolina Ioannidou (174-94) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for GAC Eunikos. Four GAC Eunikos players scored in double figures. Panionios (1-9) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. It was GAC Eunikos' tenth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with ten games lost. Panionios' next round opponent will be higher ranked Kronos AD (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game. GAC Eunikos will play against Ikaros Kalitheas (#6) in Glyfada and hopes to get finally their first victory.
