Regular Season Round 8: MIA Academy - Olimpi 62-71

Undefeated MIA (6-1) recorded its first loss in Tbilisi. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Olimpi (6-1) 71-62. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of MIA. MIA was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Olimpi made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Olimpi outrebounded MIA 48-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. MIA was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and Greek-Estonian point guard Sten-Timmu Sokk (181-89) who added 9 points and 8 assists during the contest. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) responded with 8 points and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olimpi moved-up to second place, which they share with MIA Academy. Olimpi will play against league's leader Energy Invest in Rustavi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MIA will play on the road against Kutaisi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
