Regular Season Round 8: Dinamo Tbilisi - Sokhumi 81-77

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#6) and Sokhumi (#9). Dinamo Tbilisi (4-3) won against visiting Sokhumi (1-6) 81-77. Dinamo Tbilisi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Keyon Carter (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Irakli Chlaidze (199-89) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and Uzbekistani-Russian guard Ruslan Nazmiev (200-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sokhumi's coach Vazha Kvaratskhelia let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dinamo Tbilisi maintains sixth position with 4-3 record. Sokhumi at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Armia.
