Regular Season Round 13: Shenyang - Liaoning 87-80

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Liaoning Hengye (7-6) against fourth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (8-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Liaoning Hengye was defeated by Shenyang Golden Lions in a tough game in Dandong 80-87. It looked good early as Liaoning Hengye took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Shenyang Golden Lions had a 25-16 second period charge getting the lead and Liaoning Hengye was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-87. Shenyang Golden Lions made 28-of-34 charity shots (82.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Liaoning Hengye turnovers. Liaoning Hengye was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward LiJie Miao (178-81) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. The former international center Dan Liu (194-87) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Shenyang Golden Lions players scored in double figures. Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds and the former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) added 21 points and 5 assists in the effort for Liaoning Hengye. Shenyang Golden Lions have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Liaoning Hengye at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Shenyang Golden Lions will play against Beijing Great Wall (#4) on the road in the next round. Liaoning Hengye will play against Heilongjiang Chenneng in Harbin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
