There was a small surprise in Reggio Calabria where seventeenth ranked Reggio Calabr. (4-9) defeated 15th ranked Recanati (4-9) 81-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Reggio Calabr.. Recanati was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Power forward Marco Ammannato (202-88, agency: Players Group) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) chipped in 11 points, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Reggio Calabr.'s coach Francesco Ponticiello allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Marco Tagliabue (206-86) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (193-82) scored 17 points. Reggio Calabr. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Latina Basket and Recanati. Recanati lost fifth consecutive game.
