Regular Season Round 24: Ebara Vickies - Mitsubishi K. 50-68

There was no surprise in Tokyo where 10th ranked Ebara Vickies (5-17) were defeated by fifth ranked Mitsubishi K. (16-6) 68-50. It looked good early as Ebara Vickies took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mitsubishi K. had a 22-12 second period charge getting the lead and Ebara Vickies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-68. Mitsubishi K. dominated on the defensive end, holding Ebara Vickies to just 2 points in third quarter. Mitsubishi K. shot 21 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Ebara Vickies only scored two points from the stripe. The winners were led by center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) who scored that evening 28 points and 8 rebounds and guard Yasuko Hashimoto (163-82) supported her with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Mitsubishi K.'s coach Yuuki Yamashita allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by forward Kazumi Ogawa (178-86) did not help to save the game for Ebara Vickies. Guard Inamoto Satoko (165-84) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Mitsubishi K. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Chanson V-M and Toyota A. Ebara Vickies lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth position with 17 games lost.
