Regular Season Round 10: GTK Gdynia - Suchy Las 84-79

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Suchy Las (1-7) were defeated on the road by eighth ranked GTK Gdynia (3-5) 84-79 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Suchy Las won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GTK Gdynia made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. GTK Gdynia outrebounded Suchy Las 38-25 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Suchy Las were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (170-95) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Robert Kolka (184-93) chipped in 25 points. Jakub Fiszer (185-95) produced 15 points and forward Szymon Michalik (195-95) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted GTK Gdynia maintains eighth position in Group A with 3-5 record. Suchy Las at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the tenth place with seven games lost. GTK Gdynia will face league's leader Wilki Morskie in Szczecin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Suchy Las will play at home against Basket Pila (#6).
