Regular Season Round 14: Lucca - Omegna 80-75

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Omegna (6-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Lucca (8-4) 80-75 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Omegna won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lucca forced 24 Omegna turnovers. Omegna was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Davide Parente (188-83) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Walter Santarossa (200-78) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Lucca players scored in double figures. Guard Andrea Saccaggi (192-89, agency: Interperformances) responded with 14 points and guard Pierpaolo Picazio (193-79, agency: Players Group) scored 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Lucca moved-up to fifth place. Loser Omegna dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Lucca will face Treviglio (#7) on the road in the next round. Omegna will play against Perugia.
