Very important is a road loss of third ranked Castelletto (9-4) against fifth ranked Agrigento (9-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Castelletto was crushed by Agrigento in Agrigento 80-60. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Castelletto. The game was mostly controlled by Agrigento. Castelletto managed to win second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Agrigento forced 23 Castelletto turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Fabio Mian (196-92) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized American swingman Xavier Brown (195-91) chipped in 11 points. Four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alex Ranuzzi (195-86, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Agrigento moved-up to fourth place. Loser Castelletto keeps the third position with four games lost. Agrigento will meet Naturhouse Ferrara (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Castelletto will play against Reggio Calabr. (#15) in Reggio Calabria and hope to secure a win.
