Regular Season Round 24: Fujitsu RW - Chanson V-M 56-54

The most exciting game of round 24 in the WJBL took place in Kawasaki. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Chanson V-M (16-6) to second ranked Fujitsu RW (18-4) 56-54 in the game for the second place. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 16-6. But Chanson V-M won second period 14-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujitsu RW dominated on the defensive end, holding Chanson V-M to just 6 points in first quarter. Fujitsu RW had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Tika Yamamoto (175-91) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. International forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Kana Motoyama (180-90) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Minaho Miyoshi (167-93) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fujitsu RW have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-4 record having four points less than leader JX Sunflowers. Chanson V-M at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Toyota A. and Mitsubishi K..
