Regular Season Round 9: Bnei Hasharon - Galil Gilboa 84-81

A very interesting game took place in Hod Hasharon. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Galil Gilboa (2-7) to tenth ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-5) 84-81 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Galil Gilboa. It looked good early as Galil Gilboa took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bnei Hasharon had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and Galil Gilboa was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-84. Bnei Hasharon made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Jumaine Jones (203-79, college: Georgia) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Derrick Caracter (206-88, college: UTEP) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) came up with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for Galil Gilboa in the defeat. Five Bnei Hasharon and four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa's coach Lior Lubin tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Elizur Ashkelon. Galil Gilboa at the other side keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Bnei Hasharon's next round opponent will be Ironi Ashkelon (#9) on the road. Galil Gilboa will play against Hapoel J-M in Jerusalem.
