Regular Season Round 31: Halc.Rojos - Pioneros 73-75

The most exciting game of round 31 in the LNBP took place in Veracruz. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Halcones Rojos (23-8) to sixth ranked Pioneros (21-10) 75-73 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Halcones Rojos. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-18. But Halcones Rojos won third quarter 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jeremiah Dominguez (168-85, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points. The former international guard Forrest Fisher (193-80) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American-Panamanian guard Danilo Pinnock (196-83, college: G.Washington) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Venezuelan power forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Halcones Rojos. Halcones Rojos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Pioneros maintains sixth place with 21-10 record. Halcones Rojos at the other side keep the fourth position with eight games lost. Pioneros are looking forward to face league's leader Halcones UV Xalapa on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halcones Rojos will play against the league's second-placed Soles in Mexicali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
