The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Rueil's (6-7) road loss to ninth ranked Monaco (6-6) 46-94 on Thursday. The game without a history. Monaco led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rueil's 30. Monaco forced 22 Rueil turnovers and had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Monaco especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Rueil's players. Naturalized Tunisian power forward Mehdi Labeyrie-Hafsi (203-78) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Anthony Christophe (190-83) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Monaco players scored in double figures. Monaco's coach Jean-Michel Senegal felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Moise Diame (205-86) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St., agency: TSS Management) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Monaco moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sorgues. Loser Rueil keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Monaco will face league's leader Orchesien BC in Orchies in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rueil will play at home against Chartres (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
