An interesting game for Halcones UV Xalapa (27-4) which hosted in Xalapa their biggest opponent Soles (25-6). First ranked Halcones UV Xalapa managed to get a 4-point victory 98-94. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Soles. Halcones UV Xalapa players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Soles were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Devon Pearson (198-84, college: SMU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach Angel Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Halcones UV Xalapa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 27-4 record. Soles at the other side keep the second position with six games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Pioneros (#6) in Cancun in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
