Express L. top team - Grindavik (8-2) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Fjolnir (4-6) in Reykjavik 122-85. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Fjolnir managed to win third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Fjolnir's players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) fired a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Sylvester Spicer (198-86, college: Rogers St.) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Paul Williams (193-89, college: Dayton) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Grindavik and four Fjolnir players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grindavik have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-2 record. Loser Fjolnir keeps the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Njardvik. Grindavik will meet at home Tindastoll (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fjolnir will play against Stjarnan (#4) and hope to secure a win.
