Date: December 14, 2012
There was no surprise when 9th ranked Sendai 89ers (5-12) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Yokohama BC (12-6) 79-68 on Friday. Sendai 89ers were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul, agency: Top Notch Sports) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who added 23 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA, agency: Top Notch Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) scored 8 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Sendai 89ers' coach Robert Pierce rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yokohama BC moved-up to third place, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Loser Sendai 89ers keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
