Regular Season Round 11: Clavijo - A.Ford Burgos 82-83

The most exciting game of round 11 in the LEB Gold took place in Logrono. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked CB Clavijo (5-6) to second ranked Ford Burgos (9-2) 83-82 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 27-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for point guard Daniel Lopez (187-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 4 assists. American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (187-85, college: Providence) helped adding 18 points. point guard Enrique Suarez (185-83) responded with 23 points and 7 assists and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Five CB Clavijo players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ford Burgos have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Ford Burgos maintains second place with 9-2 record behind leader Andorra. CB Clavijo at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ford Burgos is looking forward to face FCB Regal II (#10) in Barcelona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Clavijo will play on the road against Lobe Huesca and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
