Another exciting game for Sydney Uni Flames (4-10) which played in Melbourne against 4th placed Bulleen Boomers (7-7). Eighth ranked Sydney Uni Flames won 79-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But Bulleen Boomers won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sydney Uni Flames won last quarter 19-17. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Kate Ebzery (177-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Alicia Poto (166-78) helped adding 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Rebecca Allen (185-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sydney Uni Flames have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 4-10 record. Bulleen Boomers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will play against higher ranked Townsville Fire (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bulleen Boomers will play against Logan Thunder in Loganholme and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
