Regular Season Round 14: Bordeaux - Fos Ouest 81-94

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Fos Ouest (7-7) beat on the road bottom-ranked Bordeaux (2-12) 94-81 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Fos Ouest. Bordeaux was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fos Ouest dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bordeaux's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward John Williamson (199-86, college: Cincinnati) scored 23 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Philippe Haquet (199-86) chipped in 11 points and 11 assists during the contest. Fos Ouest's coach Remi Giutta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Nate Carter (201-83, college: Oklahoma) responded with 18 points and point guard Gauthier Darrigand (184-82) scored 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fos Ouest have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with St Quentin and Bourg. Bordeaux lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Fos Ouest will face Charleville-Mezieres (#14) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Bordeaux will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
