Regular Season Round 20: Okinawa GK - Shimane SM 68-73

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Okinawa GK (15-2) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Shimane Magic (12-7) 73-68. Okinawa GK was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shimane Magic made 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jeral Davis (216-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks and the other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach Zeljko Pavlicevic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and British power forward Dzaflo Larkai (203-81, college: Bellarmine, agency: Top Notch Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Shimane Magic moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing and Shinshu BW. Okinawa GK at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Okinawa GK will play again at home against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
