Regular Season Round 14: Artego Bydg. - Wisla Can-Pak 52-61

Undefeated Artego Bydg. (10-1) recorded its first loss in Bydgoszcz on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Wisla Can-Pak (9-2) 61-52. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Artego Bydg.. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 32-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Belgian swingman Anke De Mondt (175-79) chipped in 17 points and 4 steals. American forward Kristen Morris (190-87, college: LSU) produced 6 points and 19 rebounds and Nigerian-American center Charity Szczechowiak (191-85, college: SF Austin) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-2 record behind leader Artego Bydg. Artego Bydg. at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. They share the position with CCC Polkowice. Wisla Can-Pak will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Artego Bydg. will play again on the road against Wisla Can-Pak in Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
