Regular Season Round 20: Shinshu BW - Akita NH 70-80

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Shinshu BW (12-7) against sixth ranked Akita Happinets (11-6) on Saturday night. Host Shinshu BW was defeated by Akita Happinets in Nagano 80-70. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Shinshu BW managed to win third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was power forward Anthony Kent (208-83, college: Ball St., agency: Top Notch Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Daniel Fitzgerald (206-84, college: Marquette) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Fitzgerald is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Akita Happinets' coach Kazuo Nakamura allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Akita Happinets maintains sixth position with 11-6 record. Loser Shinshu BW dropped to the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Fukuoka Rizing and Shimane SM. Akita Happinets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again against Akita Happinets and hope to secure a win.
