There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (7-10) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Gunma (3-16) 82-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-73. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and the other American import forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Worth to mention Keller played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Gunma's coach Ryan Blackwell used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and guard Cohey Aoki (167-80) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Gunma moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Miyazaki SS. Loser Tokyo Cinq R. keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Gunma will face again higher ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
