There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Tenerife (3-6) won against at home higher ranked Segle XXI (3-6) 62-55 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 22-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Laura Munoz (166-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 assists for the winners and power forward Laura Bejarano (182-82) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Judith Sole (190-95) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Belen Arrojo (-95) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Segle XXI's coach Ramon Jordana rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tenerife moved-up to ninth place in Group B, which they share with defeated Segle XXI. Segle XXI lost their fourth game in a row. Tenerife will face higher ranked Real Canoe (#3) in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
