Regular Season Round 10: Cafes Aitona - Castello 90-73

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Castello's (2-7) road loss to ninth ranked Cafes Aitona (4-5) 73-90. It looked good early as Castello took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cafes Aitona had a 36-12 second period charge getting the lead and Castello was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-90. Cafes Aitona shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. It was a very good performance for guard Carlos Martinez (192-78, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 4 assists. Forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Four Cafes Aitona players scored in double figures. Center Victor Hidalgo (204-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and power forward David Ortega (199-84) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Castello. Castello's coach Toni Ten rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cafes Aitona moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aurteneche M. Castello lost fourth consecutive game. Castello at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Cafes Aitona's next round opponent will be league's leader CB Guadalajara on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Castello will play against La Palma (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
