Regular Season Round 11: Hitachi SR - Tochigi Brex 63-48
Date: December 15, 2012
Rather predictable result in Tokyo where fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (12-10) defeated 7th ranked Tochigi Brex (5-17) 63-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Tochigi Brex was better in fourth quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) helped adding 12 points. American center Sylvester Morgan (209-83, college: Georgia St.) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Shuto Tawatari (185-90) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hitachi Sunrockers. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Panasonic T. Tochigi Brex lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers will face bottom-ranked Hokkaido L. (#8) in Saporro in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tochigi Brex will play at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya.
