Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Niigata Albirex (12-6) smashed at home 7th ranked Chiba Jets (8-9) 83-62 on Saturday. The game without a history. Niigata Albirex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Niigata Albirex forced 27 Chiba Jets turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Niigata Albirex made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and Yuichi Ikeda (192-83) who added 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. American center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Cros.) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman D'Andre Bell (198-87, college: Georgia Tech) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Niigata Albirex moved-up to third place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Loser Chiba Jets keep the seventh position with nine games lost.
