No shocking result in a game when first ranked Pogon Prudnik (9-1) beat on the road 7th ranked HK Zory (4-6) 81-75 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But HK Zory won second period 26-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Pogon Prudnik won last quarter 22-17. They made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while HK Zory only scored seven points from the stripe. Pogon Prudnik forced 20 HK Zory turnovers. HK Zory was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Jaroslaw Pawlowski (194-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Maciej Lepczynski (193-82) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Pogon Prudnik players scored in double figures. Forward Grzegorz Zadecki (193-83) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds and forward Adam Bialdyga (198-87) added 15 points in the effort for HK Zory. Pogon Prudnik maintains first place in Group B with 9-1 record. HK Zory lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. Pogon Prudnik will face Tychy (#5) on the road in the next round. HK Zory will play against Alba Chorzow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
