There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Wisla AWF Kr. (3-6) was smashed by tenth ranked Legia (3-6) in Krakow 80-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-59. Legia dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Wisla AWF Kr.'s 28. They outrebounded Wisla AWF Kr. 44-25 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Legia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Legia made 7 blocks. Wisla AWF Kr. was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Rafal Holnicki-Szulc (186-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Piotr Nawrot (195-84, college: Williston St. JC) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Szymon Czepiec (197-88) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Mateusz Goralski (185-94) added 12 points in the effort for Wisla AWF Kr.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
