Regular Season Round 11: Panathinaikos - PAOK 70-64

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Athens. First ranked Panathinaikos faced 4th placed PAOK. Host Panathinaikos (10-1) defeated guests from Thessaloniki (8-3) 70-64. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of PAOK. Panathinaikos forced 21 PAOK turnovers and outrebounded them 29-14 including 19 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) who scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Aristea Maglara (168-83) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Maria Avtzi (173) produced 15 points and 4 assists and Canadian forward Kayla Dykstra (188-87) added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Panathinaikos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Athinaikos and AO Ellinikou. PAOK at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Panathinaikos is looking forward to face Aris (#7) in Thessaloniki in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. PAOK will play at home against GAC Eunikos in Liosa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
