SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (14-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Aanekosken (8-7) in Aanekoski 72-59. The game was mostly controlled by Catz Lappeenranta. Aanekosken was better in third quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aanekosken to just 6 points in second quarter. Catz Lappeenranta forced 22 Aanekosken turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Alexandria Anderson (185-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import Chandrea Jones (175-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who added 21 points and 5 assists during the contest. American forward Swayze Black (190-89, college: LSU, agency: Merit Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and guard Salla Viitanen (167-87) scored 19 points. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Aanekosken at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with HoNsU. Catz Lappeenranta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aanekosken will play on the road against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
