Very predictable result when fifth ranked Marghera (9-3) won against 10th ranked San Salvatore (5-7) in Venezia 72-66 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. San Salvatore was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Marghera made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Marghera outrebounded San Salvatore 40-21 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Bulgarian forward Anna Rimpova (183-82) who led her team to a victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Carla Fabris (185-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. point guard Anna Lussu (163-85) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Stefania D'Arenzo (185-78) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for San Salvatore. Marghera moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Crema and Milano. Newly promoted San Salvatore dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Marghera's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Venezia to the arena Umana Reyer.
