There was no surprise when 16th ranked Reggio Calabr. (4-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Castelletto (10-4) 84-74 on Sunday. Reggio Calabr. was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-15 charge of Castelletto, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Reggio Calabr. turnovers. Reggio Calabr. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Federico Bolzonella (184-84) who scored 25 points. Center Marco Pazzi (203-79) chipped in 7 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) who recorded 21 points and 7 steals and Luca Fontecchio (202-91, agency: Players Group) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Reggio Calabr. will play against Latina Basket (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
