No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked G.Canaria 2014 (9-3) beat 7th ranked Regal FC Barcelona (7-5) in Las Palmas 81-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 45-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American-Azerbaijani power forward Spencer Nelson (202-80, college: Utah St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Ryan Toolson (193-85, college: Utah Valley) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) added 15 points in the effort for Regal FC Barcelona. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. G.Canaria 2014 moved-up to second place, which they share with Caja Laboral and Valencia. Defending champion Regal FC Barcelona keeps the seventh position with five games lost. G.Canaria 2014 will face Asefa Estudiantes (#8) in Madrid in the next round where they are favorite. Regal FC Barcelona will play at home against Blusens Monbus in Santoago de Comp.
