Regular Season Round 12: Uppsala KFUM - Umea 65-78

Very expected game when 10th ranked KFUM Uppsala (4-8) was defeated at home by third ranked Umea (10-3) 78-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Umea. KFUM Uppsala was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Umea dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Uppsala's 32. They outrebounded KFUM Uppsala 39-27 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Egal Saleman (199-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Per Bergmark (195-89) who added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Umea players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Oliver Jonsson (194-92) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Simon Ezra (197-94) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. KFUM Uppsala's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Umea have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader. Loser KFUM Uppsala keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. Umea will have a break next round. KFUM Uppsala will play at home against Jarva Devils (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
