Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked HBA-Marsky (7-7) was outscored on the road by third ranked Jarvenpaa (9-5) 98-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Jarvenpaa. HBA-Marsky was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding HBA-Marsky to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded HBA-Marsky 42-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Visa Tarjanne (193-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Gambian power forward Pierre Jallow (203-79, college: William Jewell) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Julius Rajala (205-94) replied with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Joni Herrala (190-94) added 11 points in the effort for HBA-Marsky. HBA-Marsky's coach Anton Mirolybov already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Jarvenpaa moved-up to second place in Division. Loser HBA-Marsky keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Jarvenpaa will face Kerava Energia Team (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
