Regular Season Round 11: Panasonic T. - Toshiba BT 100-78

Fourth ranked Panasonic Trians (12-10) crushed at home 5th ranked Toshiba Thunders (11-11) by 22 points 100-78, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Panasonic Trians. Toshiba Thunders was better in fourth quarter 33-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panasonic Trians made 31-of-36 free shots (86.1 percent) during the game, while Toshiba Thunders only scored twelve points from the stripe. Toshiba Thunders were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) helped adding 32 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panasonic Trians moved-up to third place, which they share with Hitachi SR. Loser Toshiba Thunders keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Panasonic Trians will face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#6) in Nagoya in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo.
