Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked TuNMKY (8-6) outplayed 6th ranked JyWe (5-9) in Turun 87-48 on Sunday. The game without a history. TuNMKY led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 JyWe turnovers and outrebounded them 58-29 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Antonio Hester (198, college: Mobile, AL) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. TuNMKY's coach Ray Ailus felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Vili Vaisanen (192-90) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Juho Nuutinen (190-85) added 13 points in the effort for JyWe. Newly promoted TuNMKY maintains fourth position in Division with 8-6 record. JyWe at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. TuNMKY will face BC Jyvaskyla (#6) on the road in the next round.
